12/12/20 - When The Path becomes Personal.

Moses had a burning bush experience. Jesus asked Peter, “Who do you say that I am?” I am being asked the same question.. "Paul. Who do you say that I am?" " Jesus. By your stripes I am healed Isaiah 53 and 2 Peter?" He said, "Be healed and finish the work I have called you to do..  the top of the scroll said "true north" His commandment could not be more clear. This journal is a long term mandate that I am fulfilling- even if every letter of the journal is typed with one finger from an ICU bed at 3am. I am simply His journalist. Trying what He says to encourage us all on the path to Jesus, our True North. This is an intense season. But Jesus is Lord. How we each respond to our own "who do YOU say that I am" is more real than any circumstances we are facing. Today The True North is pouring out the intense love He has for us. The same love that drove Him to the cross for the joy set before Him..  so we can celebrate His pre...

12/06/20 - Leading With Your Left - Proverbs 3:5-6

OPENING TRAILS  I am thankful that God so loved the world that beyond John 3:16 that :  1)  He gave the writer of Hebrews the prophetic insight to reveal to us thousands of years ago that "[Abraham] waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God." Hebrews 11:10 2)  Isaiah was given the insight in  Isaiah 9:6 (NKJV) 6 For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 3)  and that Peter was given the mystery that 1 Peter 1:10-12 (NKJV) 10 Concerning this salvation, the prophets, who spoke of the grace that was to come to you, searched intently and with the greatest care, 11 trying to find out the time and circumstances to which the Spirit of Christ in them was pointing when he predicted the sufferings of the Messiah and the glories that would follow. 12  It was revealed to them that...

11/29/20 - Strength in Stillness

OPENING TRAILS Micah 5:2 (NKJV) “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Though you are little among the thousands of Judah, Yet out of you shall come forth to Me The One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are from of old, From everlasting.” This verse shows the infinite wisdom of God in declaring a "little" city of Judah for the birth of Jesus. THE PATH Several weeks ago I was working on some paperwork late into the night.  When I finished about 2am, I felt a sense of satisfaction at finishing the work, but Deeper , I felt an unexpected Strength from the Stillness in the room.  I felt God's Strength and Refreshing in the late night. I was reminded of Psalm 46:10 (NASB) : " Cease striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." God provides an inner strength as we acknowledge His Greatness. 1 Kings 19 (NKJV) provides an interesting pattern as we walk in Stillness . Elijah has executed the prophets of Baal.  No...

11/22/20 - He Changed Everything - An Easter story at Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a special time for Believers, as we recall the goodness of God in our lives. Here are some thoughts that I recorded a couple of years ago at Easter. -- During Family Time a couple of nights ago, when I read John 17-21, the tears periodically began to flow.  I began to see in a new way, on Easter, He changed Everything . In John 17, Jesus was praying for the disciples and FOR US . 17:20 “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word" 17:24 “Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me" The cross was before Him.  He prayed the John 17 prayer in Gethsemane. Jesus knew from scripture the burden of his horrible pain, suffering, and death. He knew that a friend would soon be coming to betray Him. He probably also knew that for a split second He would endure the immeasurable pain of separation from the Father. And He also knew the rest of...

11/15/20 - The Cup of His Fellowship

The Cup of His Fellowship This house I am building, with hearts who are yielding,  Eyes who see  with bended knee,  Ears who hear,  and act without fear,  Intentional with vision  They know their mission,  Having the mind of Christ,  Totally illuminated in light,  Unified with chords of love Releases the power of the dove,   This cup will be your fellowship,  Til all the house becomes equipped.  With power and demonstration  It will be poured out to every nation.  Then on that day we will become one,  The house becomes united with the Son.  Whoever drinks from this cup  Will never thirst again... 11/12/20 - One More Time - Mother's Prayer

I was blessed to have an incredible mother-in-law, Nancy Jo Knight, whom everyone called Mother. Widowed in her 40's, she had three grown children, but still had 9 year old Becky under her care.  She asked God to help her raise Becky and had nightly family altars with her.  I am a recipient of her faithfulness to raise Becky. In November several years ago, she went into a coma for several days. Early in the morning on November 12, she was surrounded by her three daughters, Sylvia, Darnell, her husband Willie, and Becky She prayed one final prayer. "Lord, I want to look at my children and bless them One More Time ". Unexpectedly, she sat up in her bed, smiled, turned, and looked in eyes of those around her bed. Willie waved at her.  Then, she fell asleep, with a radiance on her face and breathed normally until she left a short time later. Jesus answered her final prayer.

11/08/20 - Patsy saw something

Patsy saw something. Her testimony which I heard in person from her in the summer of 1989 was that she "saw His Eyes and He helped me get to the kitchen".  She was very sick and no one was at home to help her, so The Son made a personal visit to her house in Clinton, Mississippi.   A few months later, she saw Him Again, this time, face-to-face.  This time she would not need his help, she would forever be in His Presence.   Jesus continues to show up in His Children's lives.  When He comes, He changes everything.
